Frequently Asked Questions about Classic Bronze 2009
- Where will the actual rehearsals be ? Rehearsals for Classic Bronze will be at the Concordia University in Edmonton www.concordia.ab.ca. The parking is ample and free. Concordia University is easily accessible by public transit.
- What about the cost? The fees for Classic Bronze 2009 are $200.00 + $25.00 for a Classic Bronze golf shirt. A deposit of $50.00 is to be included with your application form. This deposit is nonrefundable after April 30.
- Are meals included? Some lunches and dinners are provided with your registration - these are detailed on the schedule. You will be responsible for your own breakfast. If you have allergies or are unable to eat certain foods, please let Cathy Koski rkoski@telusplanet.net know.
- What about accommodation? It will be your responsibility to arrange for your own accommodation. If you are looking for a roommate to help decrease your costs or billeting, please let Cathy Koski rkoski@telusplanet.net know and she will try to match you with one. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to find a match for you.
- Will there be vendors onsite? There will be no handbell vendors on site so you will need to plan ahead and see that you have your music, your binderstand, rehearsal gloves and white gloves for the concert.
- How are assignments going to be determined? On the application form, we have asked each ringer to rate their preferred assignments. Even with this information, determining assignments will not be easy. We will try to place you in one of your top three positions but cannot guarantee it. We will not place you in any positions that you have said no to on your application. If there are ten applications for ringers whose first choice is the same, we will check to see when the application was completed and give, when possible, that person their first preference.
- How do I prepare for rehearsals? The best way to do that is to study your score weeks before rehearsal starts. You will need to mark your music for bell changes as well as any complex counting or rhythms. Study notes for each piece will be on the website by April 2009. Read them and make the appropriate marks. It might also be a good idea to arrange to rehearse with other Classic Bronze ringers from your area. Rehearsals will focus on making music, not sorting out bell changes or meter.
- Can my family come the Classic Bronze Final Concert? The final concert will be on July 5, 2009 in the afternoon. It will be open to the public and tickets available at the door.
- What is concert dress ? Included in your registration will be a Classic Bronze TShirt. This will be worn for the final concert. We have decided that ringers will wear white gloves.
