Reset00

It's purpose is to keep URL's sorted and to keep smaller Hotlists.

It allows the Arachne user to create, manage, view any Hotlist and choose which Hotlist to use to store his new bookmarks.

It can set the users default Hotlist by altering the Hotlist path in arachne.cfg.
All new bookmarks will be saved to the default file in the Hotlist path.

Hotmaker.zip contains the following files:

menu.htm         this is the Hotlist Menu Manager
clone                this will be used to make a new hotlist.
arachneh.htm   this is a sample file
doshtml.htm     this is a sample file
htmls.htm         this is a sample hotlist.
reset.htm          this is a sample hotlist.
readme.htm      this file
setactiv.ah        the first line sets the default hotlist
                         path for this will be "bookmark/filename" or simply menu.htm or hotlist.htm
 
 

To Install:

Download hotmenu.apm and run to install to Arachne directory.
This will create "\bookmark" sub-directory in Arachne directory.

Or you can download hotmaker.zip and follow instructions 1..8

1. pkunzip -d hotmaker.zip to floppy disk or hard drive.
   This will create the "bookmark" directory.
   Hint: Do not unzip to Arachne directory and this will save Hotlists to use for future
   Arachne installations or many Arachne installations.

2. launch Arachne
3. F10, find and seclect bookmark\"menu.htm" at the unzipped location.
4. press letter "A" to bookmark to existing hotlist.
5. choose "Set Active" and make the appropriate change to Active Hotlist Path.
6. "Save". "Use New Settings".
7. F10 on keyboard to find old "hotlist.htm" bookmarks.
8. press letter "A" to bookmark old "hotlist.htm" to your new Hotlist Menu Manager.

To Make a New Hotlist and add to Hotlist Menu:

1. "Create Hotlist" then save with new name and HTM extension.
2. "Hotlist Dir" then "R" on keyboard to refresh the screen and see new file.
3. View your new empty hotlist file.
4. F4 to edit the hotlist's "title" ( in both locations as indicated in the file )
5. F2 to save
6. Press "A" on the keyboard to add to your "Hotlist Menu" manager.

To Make another HOTLIST Active:

   This Hotlist will be the one to save new bookmarks and
   this will be the Holist that you see when you press "H"

1. "Set Active" and change Active Hotlist Path to your choice of hotlist.
2. Go to your favorite WWW URL and press "A" to save it to your new hotlist.
3. press "H" to look at the change on the new hotlist.

To View ANY Hotlist:

1. Press "H" to view the Hotlist Menu manager or
2. "Hotlist Dir" then "R" to view a Hotlist that you have not bookmarked on the Hotlist Menu manager.

To Reset the Hotlist default to "Hotlist Menu" manager:
2. Select "Set Active"
3. change the Hotlist path to "menu.htm"

To Reset to Old Hotlist
"Set Active" and change to "hotlist.htm"
To simply view your old hotlist bookmarks select "Old Hotlist"

You may use F4 while in Hotlist Menu Manager to edit Hotlist Menu manager itself.
ie: you can remove the first 4 "LI" listings...
